Used to bring two horizontal pipe runs together into a main vertical pipe, usually when connecting two WC's into a main soil stack. The most common use for this is when an en-suite bathroom is separated from a main bathroom by a dividing wall, with a central soil pipe running vertically between them. It is also commonly used in public buildings where ladies and gentlemen's toilets are positioned back to back in the building design.
